My Life In Films

I watch, I write.

If A Tree Falls: A Story Of The Earth Liberation Front (2011) - 13/06/2013

It doesn’t leave a pleasant taste in my mouth.

Stream. 1st Time.

This is too much… It’s hard to justify it now.

Personally, there’s an equally sizable issue in law enforcement. Not just in the fairly obvious technique and tactics debate, but something subtler but potentially bigger. The adjustments ion punishment for co-operation at different levels doesn’t seem to fairly regulate punishment to fit crimes. Is it right that the same crime can equal substantially different prison terms due to co-operation? How far along the scale should that be.

So critical of how people interact with the world.

I Know What I Saw (2009) - 13/06/2013

They can’t trust everyone.

Stream. 1st Time.

An area that thrives on a significant lack of information, and the thing is you can’t just compile it all, or accumulate it.

I can’t doubt that people have consistently seen things that they can not identify. This is interesting. The way people, institutions and governments react to this is interesting. The speculation beyond there being sightings of unidentified flying objects is purely that.

I don’t like the ridiculing, it doesn’t help get to the truth regardless of opinion or stand point. #

Transformers (2007) - 13/06/2013

Easily 100 times cooler than Armageddon.

DVD. 6th Time.

He’s my adviser.

For me it’s close to the perfect mix of light hearted humor, ridiculousness and over the top action. I love it.

The first two thirds are the best, the last third is just action action action.

It’s supposed to be like that.

The Express (2008) - 12/06/2013

Shovel pass.

Stream. 1st Time.

The language of sport is an excellent tool for any important social issue. It evokes my emotions like little else.

Well worthy of a film.

I Am Number Four (2011) - 10/06/2013

Your number’s up.

Stream. 1st Time.

Expecting a teen sci-fi romp, , I got a very marginally angsty teen sci-fi romp.

I presume it’s not hit it’s primary target of producing a sequel. Whatever that might be called.

Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007) - 09/06/2013

This isn’t for our world

TV. 2nd Time

Mediocre action. Which is a shame, because I think Alien vs. Predator was an interesting action film.

It certainly isn’t worthy of the line “Get to the chopper”.

Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (2004) - 09/06/2013

Super Duper!

DVD. 9th? Time.

Compelling and rich.

For me, a seminal film. It may not have created the style, but it defines it.

Almost every line is a quote. Almost every line would be the highlight of many other films.

I’m Ron Burgundy?

Spider-Man 3 (2007) - 09/06/2013

When you’re dropping without a parachute.

DVD. 1st Time.

They really are superheroes to be able to take that sort of punishment.

When it has it’s “The Mask” moment, it loses it’s last shred of dignity. In The Mask, it’s the Mask, so of course there are no questions. When peter Parker slides from the top of one instrument to another some questions should be asked.

An action film with the pretense of something else. Something more. Even if it’s just more than a standard spider-man. Whatever would do, so long as there was a film to put out as the third film the the series, the second cash cow, then that’s fine.

Series;

Spider-Man (2002)Spider-Man 2 (2004)Spider-Man 3 (2007).

And the “reboot”;

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012).
